Agreement

By downloading or using The Choice, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The Service

The Choice provides a daily interactive story experience. One new story is published each day for all users worldwide. Stories are written in the second person and present morally ambiguous choices with no objectively correct answer.

The app is intended for personal, non-commercial use only.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use The Choice. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

Accounts

You may use The Choice as a guest (anonymous) or create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Subscriptions

The Choice Pro

The Choice Pro is an auto-renewable subscription that unlocks access to the full story archive and the ability to replay any story to explore alternate paths.

  • -Duration: Monthly or Annual (as presented at time of purchase)
  • -Price: As displayed in the App Store at time of purchase
  • -Payment: Charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
  • -Renewal: Subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • -Cancellation:Manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings (Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions)
  • -Refunds: Handled by Apple in accordance with their standard policies

Free Features

The free tier includes access to today's story, global vote results, the share summary, and streak tracking. No subscription is required to use these features.

Content

All stories, narrative text, choice prompts, and related content in The Choice are the intellectual property of The Choice and its authors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without written permission.

Stories contain mature themes including grief, moral conflict, and ethical dilemmas. Content is intended for a general adult audience.

User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • -Use the app for any unlawful purpose
  • -Attempt to manipulate vote counts or global results
  • -Reverse engineer or tamper with the app or its backend systems
  • -Use automated means to access the service
  • -Misrepresent your identity or account status

Disclaimers

The Choice is provided on an “as is” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that stories will be available at any particular time.

The moral dilemmas presented in stories are fictional. They are intended for reflection and entertainment and do not constitute professional, legal, medical, or ethical advice.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Choice and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of data or service interruption.

Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for any subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Changes to the Service

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.

Apple App Store — Additional Terms

These Terms are in addition to, and not in replacement of, Apple's App Store Terms of Service. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Apple's terms, Apple's terms will govern with respect to your use of the App Store.

Apple is not responsible for The Choice or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is based, without regard to conflict of law principles.
